Salvation
  • What is salvation?

Salvation or being saved is GOD redeeming mankind from satan and hell.
  • Why do I need to be saved?

We need to be saved so that we can be redeemed from satan and hell. God created this world and in the beginning, it was a world without sin, sickness or death, where green plants and vegetation were given for food to both man and animals, who lived in harmony together and also with God.

That all changed, but not at God’s hand. It was a direct result of something known as free will. Adam and Eve were enticed by the devil in the form of a serpent into disbelieving what God had told them, and then they chose to follow the serpent’s advice. They ate the forbidden fruit, and today, we are subject to separation between man and God. The choice of the first man and woman altered the condition of us all, because their children were born into a world of sin.

This is what is known as Original Sin or the Fall. It is the condition of sin people are born into because of Adam’s sin against God. Adam was the father of all humanity, and since he became a sinner, by nature all future generations are born into sin.
  • How can I be saved?

    Prayer for salvation:
Dear GOD I confess with my mouth the LORD JESUS and believe in my heart that YOU raised JESUS from the dead. Therefore, I am saved and JESUS is my LORD and SAVIOR.

  • How do I receive the Holy Spirit?

It is God's will that every born again believer be filled with the Holy Spirit. You simply receive Him by asking God to(fill) you and receive His infilling by faith. He's a gift from God to you. After He comes in, the initial evidence of His existence is the speaking of tongues or your heavenly language. Please refer to these scriptures for more clarity:
    • Luke:11:13b
    • John 24:17
    • Mark 1:8
    • Acts 1:8
    • Acts 2:4
  • Is speaking in tongues the Holy Spirit, or what does speaking in tongues have to do with the Holy Spirit?

No, speaking in tongues is not the Holy Spirit. The speaking in tongues is one of the evidences, signs, or manifestations, of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. For example, just as repentance is a sign of receiving salvation, likewise, tongues is a sign of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In addition, tongues that's given to you through the Holy Spirit is a gift from God and a personal heavenly language that's used to communicate with Him directly and more intimately.

There is also the Gift of Tongues given by the Holy Spirit that edifies not only you, but, others and the whole church as well. Examples are found in these scriptures:
