C.O.C. History
A ministry of loveIn June of 1978, with God’s help and direction, Johnny R. King founded Christian Outreach Center of Fort Worth, a non-denominational church. Pastor Johnny’s vision was to reach all people with the uncompromising Word of God. When he prayed about the church’s motto the Lord gave him “The Battle is the Lord’s… and the Victory is Ours”.
The church started in Oakbrook Mall in south Fort Worth. By 1985, due to the tremendous growth of the congregation, the church moved to its current location on East Seminary Drive.
In order to meet the needs of our members and our community, Christian Outreach Center established several fellowships and outreach ministries. These include Men, Ladies, Singles and Married Couples Fellowships as well as YAM(Young Adult Ministry)/Teen Ministries, Nursery and Preschool classes.
Our vision states that we are a teaching and training center, and in keeping with the vision, we host conferences throughout the year to enrich the lives of our people, to reach the lost, and to train our members in the biblical principles of the five-fold ministry. Our church has been acknowledged for its work in the community by several organizations and the City of Fort Worth.
In November 2001, Pastor Johnny King went home to be with Lord and his wife, Rose M. King, who had been the co-pastor for over 23 years, became the senior pastor. She is assisted by her son, Pastor Jamil King. Pastor Johnny would be pleased by the growth of this church in number, but more importantly the spiritual growth of its people. His heart’s desire was to see the vision continue, expand and abound to the glory of God.
