Family, there’s a hunger in many believers right now that can’t be satisfied by surface Christianity. It’s a holy dissatisfaction.
Not bitterness… not burnout… but a desire to go deeper to know God beyond information, beyond routine, beyond emotion into real spiritual awareness.
Before my spiritual father passed away, he made a statement that marked my heart forever. After years of meditating, loving the Word, practicing the Word, and loving the Father, he said:
“There were times I forgot I even had a body.”
That wasn’t weird. That wasn’t spooky. That was fruit.
That was the result of a life so absorbed in God that the natural world stopped being the loudest voice in the room.
And if we’re honest, most of us live the opposite way. We’re so aware of our body… our pressure… our stress… our appetite… our emotions… our pain… our bills… our schedule… that our spirit stays in the background like a quiet guest instead of being the main leader of our life.
But the Lord is calling us higher.
Not to escape life… but to live from the eternal realm while still walking on earth.
“Not by Power… but by Absorbing the Word”
Lord, help us suspend our physical senses not by hype, not by emotion, not by human strength
But by absorbing the Word through:
love, kindness, meditation, prayer, and obedience,
until the Holy Spirit begins to awaken a new awareness in our hearts.
Because spiritual depth isn’t forced.
It’s formed.
And spiritual sensitivity isn’t performed.
It’s cultivated.
Crossing Over by Faith: When Jesus Becomes Louder Than Everything
There is a realm in God where your spirit becomes so alive that the natural starts to fade not because it disappears, but because it loses authority over you.
This is what it means to “cross over.”
Not into fantasy.
Not into delusion.
But into a life where the unseen becomes more real than what you can touch.
Where the anxieties of life get quieter…
and the presence of Jesus gets stronger…
Where the natural world grows dim…
because your focus is caught up in Christ.
That’s why the Word tells us to seek higher things:
“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
(Colossians 3:2)
That’s not denial it’s direction.
You don’t ignore your responsibilities.
You just refuse to let the natural world become your God.
The Desire to Seek Things Above (Where Christ Sits)
The deeper life begins with a deeper desire.
Not a desire to be impressive.
Not a desire to be spooky.
But a desire to be pure… free… spirit-led… Christ-centered.
Scripture says:
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.”
(Colossians 3:1)
That means there is a level of living where you stop being governed by:
• moods
• cravings
• offense
• validation
• pressure
• fear
• reputation
…and you start being governed by:
• truth
• peace
• joy
• discipline
• purity
• love
• spiritual clarity
When the Word Becomes Alive Inside You
Here’s one of the most powerful truths for anyone who wants to go deeper:
The Word of God is so alive that once it is received in sufficient measure daily, it will start to live by itself without your permission.
That means when the Word gets deep enough in you, it starts operating like a law.
It starts correcting you.
It starts restraining you.
It starts leading you.
It starts strengthening you.
It starts purifying you.
Not because you tried harder…
but because the Word became implanted.
At that point, you don’t have to “force” conviction.
You don’t have to “force” hunger.
You don’t have to “force” obedience.
The Word begins to carry you.
How Do You “Forget You Have a Body” (Without Becoming Weird)?
Let’s be clear: you still live in your body, but your body stops being your master.
It means you stop living by constant physical dominance:
hunger, comfort, fatigue, lust, fear, anxiety, ego.
You start living from the inside out spirit first.
1) Discipline Your Flesh Without Hating Your Flesh
Paul said:
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection…”
(1 Corinthians 9:27, NKJV)
This is spiritual maturity:
your body becomes a servant, not a ruler.
You stop letting your emotions drive you.
You stop letting cravings lead you.
You stop letting comfort decide your obedience.
2) Present Your Body as Worship
Depth begins with surrender.
“Present your bodies a living sacrifice… which is your reasonable service.”
(Romans 12:1, KJV)
Notice what God asks for first: your body.
Your schedule.
Your habits.
Your patterns.
Your appetite.
Your sleep.
Your mouth.
Your reactions.
A living sacrifice means you get on the altar daily and say:
“Father, You lead me today.”
3) Walk in the Spirit Until the Flesh Gets Quieter
“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
(Galatians 5:16)
You don’t overcome the flesh by talking to it.
You overcome it by walking in the Spirit so consistently that the flesh loses leverage.
Then the fruit begins to show up:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…”
(Galatians 5:22)
When these fruits grow, you become less reactive, less impulsive, less controlled by the natural.
4) Remember: The Outward Man Is Perishing
Scripture teaches us that the natural body is temporary.
The outward man is fading. Aging. Declining.
But the inner man can become stronger every day.
That’s why spiritual people don’t panic when the natural shakes.
They already live anchored in another realm.
5) Feed Your Spirit Until It Becomes the Dominant Voice
Jesus said:
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
(Matthew 4:4, NKJV)
Bread feeds the body.
But the Word feeds the spirit.
And when the spirit is fed long enough, it starts to lead.
You stop needing constant motivation.
You stop needing constant reassurance.
You stop being moved by every wind.
Because the Word becomes a fire inside you.
6) Become Spirit-Conscious Through Meditation
Meditation isn’t emptying your mind.
Biblical meditation is filling your mind with God until your heart starts catching fire.
It’s slow soaking.
It’s chewing the Word.
It’s replaying truth until it becomes atmosphere.
This is how your spiritual father got there:
years of quiet faithfulness.
Not trying to “feel” something…
just loving God deeply.
7) Live with Awareness: Your Spirit Is God’s Lamp
“The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD…”
(Proverbs 20:27, KJV)
That means God speaks through your spirit.
He leads through your spirit.
He warns through your spirit.
He comforts through your spirit.
But if your life is always loud…
your body will drown out your candle.
So you learn stillness.
You learn silence.
You learn presence.
A Simple Prayer for Those Who Want to Go Deeper
Father, in Jesus’ name, we desire You not just blessings, not just breakthrough, but You.
Teach us to set our mind on things above where Christ sits.
Help us discipline our bodies and bring our flesh into subjection.
Let Your Word absorb into us until our spirit becomes stronger than our senses.
Holy Spirit, awaken us to deeper awareness, deeper purity, and deeper hunger.
Let the natural grow dim as Jesus becomes clearer, closer, and louder in our hearts.
We cross over by faith. We belong to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Closing Thought
Depth doesn’t happen overnight.
But it always happens on purpose.
And when the love of the Father truly takes root in you, you start to experience moments where the world goes quiet… and heaven feels near.
Not because you escaped reality…
…But because you finally found the truest reality:
Christ in you.
