What Man Saw vs What God Saw

What Man Saw vs What God Saw

What Man Saw vs What God Saw

Opening Scripture

Romans 4:24–25 (NKJV)
“…it shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.”

1. The Synoptic View What Man Saw

Palm Sunday is recorded in the Gospels
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John…

These were eyewitness accounts.
These were men who walked with Jesus.
They saw Him ride into Jerusalem.

What did they see?
    •    A man on a donkey
    •    A crowd shouting “Hosanna”
    •    Palm branches being laid down
    •    Celebration of a coming King

Scriptures:
    1.    Matthew 21:5 (NKJV)
“Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey…”
    2.    John 12:13 (NKJV)
“Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
    3.    Luke 19:37–38 (NKJV)
“…the whole multitude…began to rejoice and praise God…”
    4.    Mark 11:9–10 (NKJV)
“Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”

Man saw a moment, Man saw praise,
Man saw a King entering a city.

But they didn’t fully understand what was happening.

2. The Hidden Reality What God Saw

While man saw celebration…
God saw substitution.

According to your notes:

God saw every sin of your entire life
and placed it on Jesus.

For three hours…
darkness covered the earth.

This was not just physical suffering
this was something happening between the Father and the Son.

Scriptures:
    5.    Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
“He was wounded for our transgressions…”
    6.    2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us…”
    7.    Matthew 27:45–46 (NKJV)
“…darkness over all the land… ‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’”

Jesus carried:
    •    Every sin
    •    Every curse
    •    Every disease
    •    Every rejection
    •    Every failure

Until He cried:
    8.    John 19:30 (NKJV)
“It is finished!”

3. The Epistle Revelation What It Means

Now this is where the epistles come in.

The Gospels show us what happened.
The Epistles tell us what it means.

You said it right:

In the mind of God… you were on that cross with Him.

Your old Adamic nature
was crucified, buried, and finished.

Scriptures:
    9.    Romans 6:6 (NKJV)
“…our old man was crucified with Him…”
    10.    2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…”
    11.    Colossians 2:12 (NKJV)
“…buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him…”

 So when Jesus died

you died.

When He was buried

your old nature was buried.

 When He rose
you rose with a new nature.

4. The Power of Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is not just about praise…

It’s about process.

The same people shouting “Hosanna”…
would later shout “Crucify Him.”

Which means:

You cannot follow Jesus based on emotion.
You must follow Him based on revelation.

5. The Real Victory

From your note:

God raised Jesus because you were justified.

Not trying to be righteous
but declared righteous.

If you weren’t justified…
Jesus would have never been raised.

But He got up
because the price was paid.

Closing Charge

Palm Sunday asks one question:

Do you just see what man saw…
or do you understand what God did?

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You that what man saw was only the surface, but what You did was eternal. Thank You that our sins were placed on Jesus, and our old nature was crucified with Him. Help us walk in the reality that we are new creations, justified, and alive in Christ. Let us not just celebrate You but understand You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
