The Power of a Digital Thought Life

The Power of a Digital Thought Life

There was a time when everything I did required my physical presence.

I remember being a young boy, around two or three years old, playing the drums in my father’s church, which was started in 1978. I was born in 1975, so I grew up in it. Music wasn’t something I learned later, it was something I lived.

By the age of four or five, my parents bought me my first drum set. Later came the electric drums, and my love for music only grew stronger. In the 80s and 90s, I learned from people in the church, Phillip on drums, Wayne on bass. By eleven, I was playing bass guitar. Soon after, I began exploring organ, piano, and keyboard.

I never learned to read music, I played by ear. It was a gift.
By the time I was nineteen, I was playing in hotels, jazz clubs, and gigs.

But everything I did required time, presence, and effort.
Set up. Break down. Travel. Perform. Repeat.

It was all effort-driven living.

The Shift

In the late 90s, everything began to change.

Technology introduced a new reality. With digital tools, you no longer needed a physical instrument for everything. You could create, produce, and build in a completely different way.

But my real shift started in 2008/2009, when I connected with a successful businessman.

That relationship planted a seed, a new way of thinking about value, systems, and opportunity.

Around 2010-2011, I stepped fully into applying what I had learned. For two years, we worked closely together. He taught me how to take what I created and position it for the marketplace, how to package it, scale it, and turn it into something that could move without me being present.

What took him years to learn, I was able to apply in a much shorter time.

Not because I was better, but because I was prepared.
A New Way of Thinking

That season taught me something powerful:

Your life follows your thinking.

Thoughts are not random.
Thoughts are seeds.
And over time, those seeds produce results.

When your thinking changes:
    •    Your decisions change
    •    Your habits change
    •    Your outcomes change

From Effort to Impact

Today, what started as music has become a digital eCommerce business with multiple distribution channels and seven-figure digital e-commerce empire!!
But the most powerful part is this:

I’m no longer required to be in every part of it.

Trusted people now manage operations.
Systems carry the weight.
Structure creates consistency.

What once required all of my time now requires less of my time.

That is the power of a digital thought life.

The Principle of Leverage

There are three levels of work:
    •    Work that requires all of your time
    •    Work that requires less of your time
    •    Work that requires none of your time

Most people live at the first level.

But growth happens when you move into the second and third.

You begin to:
    •    Build systems instead of just working
    •    Train people instead of doing everything yourself
    •    Create structure that produces results without constant effort

This is how you move from effort to impact.

Thinking at the Speed of Thought

Years ago, Bill Gates wrote Business @ the Speed of Thought

The idea was simple:
The faster information moves, the more effective you become.

In today’s world, this is even more true.

Speed is no longer about movement.
It’s about thinking, systems, and execution.

In Think and Grow Rich Napoleon Hill reinforces the same principle:

Your mindset shapes your reality.
    •    What you think about consistently
    •    What you believe is possible
    •    What you act on daily

All of it determines your results.

A Biblical Perspective

This principle is not just practical, it’s spiritual.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Transformation starts in your thinking.

Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)
“As he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

Your life will always follow your thoughts.

Ephesians 5:16 (NKJV)
“Redeeming the time…”

A digital thought life is about redeeming time, doing more with less through wisdom, structure, and intentional thinking.

The Charge

As you move forward, don’t just focus on working harder.

Focus on thinking better.

Ask yourself:
    •    Does this require all of me?
    •    Can this require less of me?
    •    Can this run without me?

Build systems.
Leverage tools.
Stay open to evolving.

Final Thought

You don’t need more time.
You need a better way of thinking.

Because when your thinking changes,
your life shifts from effort… to impact.

And you begin to live, build, and move
at the speed of thought.
