Introduction
We are living in a generation where spiritual curiosity is exploding but not toward God. Our culture has normalized tarot cards, astrology apps, crystals, and “energy readings” as if they are harmless self-help tools. Influencers advertise them. Stores sell them.
Kids talk about them at school. And many parents have no idea their children are being discipled by the supernatural world but not by the Holy Spirit.
Tarot is not a game.
It is not therapy.
It is not “just energy.”
Tarot is divination, and divination is a spiritual portal that leads directly to demonic influence.
The Bible is clear and direct about this.
1. Tarot Cards Are a Modern Form of Ancient Sorcery
Tarot reading is simply a redesigned version of practices God condemned thousands of years ago. Every time a person seeks direction through cards, they are inviting spiritual forces to speak.
Verse #1 - Deuteronomy 18:10–12 (NKJV)
“There shall not be found among you… one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens… For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord.”
This doesn’t mean God hates the person.
It means God hates the portal.
He hates anything that opens His children to deception, confusion, and demonic agreement.
Story #1: The Young man - The Curious Boy Who Opened a Door
A young man was 13. A good kid. Respectful. Smart. Raised in church.
One day at school, a friend brought a tarot deck he ordered online.
He wasn’t drawn to darkness; he was drawn to curiosity.
They sat behind the gym and pulled a card.
Then another.
Then another.
Nothing seemed evil. In fact, it seemed fun.
But a week later He began having nightmares-dark figures, paralyzing fear, and waking up unable to breathe. His personality changed. His joy disappeared. He stopped eating. He stopped talking.
His parents prayed, but something was off.
Finally, a pastor asked the right question:
“Has he opened any spiritual doors?”
The moment the parents removed the cards and prayed over their home, the oppression lifted.
Not because the cards had power
but because the spirits behind them did.
2. The Enemy Uses Curiosity as His Oldest Trap
Satan rarely shows up in full form. Instead, he seduces through curiosity, comfort, and counterfeit wisdom.
Verse #2 - 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV)
“For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.”
The devil never presents divination as demonic.
He presents it as:
- harmless
- comforting
- “spiritual but not religious”
- a way to gain control
- a way to understand the future
But it is a trap designed to slowly disconnect a person from the Holy Spirit and pull them into spiritual bondage without them noticing.
Story #2: Jordan - The Young Man Searching for Answers
Jordan was 21, smart, artistic, and dealing with depression. His friend suggested getting a tarot reading to “clear his energy.” Jordan wasn’t looking for demons he was looking for relief.
The first reading felt comforting.
The reader told him what he wanted to hear.
The cards felt “accurate,” even encouraging.
But slowly, Jordan became addicted to the guidance.
Instead of prayer, he went to the cards.
Instead of Scripture, he went to the reader.
Instead of God, he trusted a deck.
Over time, he lost peace. Anxiety increased. His spiritual life died. He stopped going to church because “the cards said it wasn’t his season.”
He didn’t even know he was being discipled by demons.
This is happening to thousands of young people every day.
3. Divination Brings Spiritual Consequences
The unseen world is real. What you entertain, you eventually invite.
Verse #3 - Leviticus 19:31 (NKJV)
“Do not turn to mediums or familiar spirits… I am the Lord your God.”
When a person seeks guidance outside of God, they silence the Holy Spirit and empower the wrong voice.
Tarot cards do not predict the future.
They manipulate atmosphere.
They influence emotions.
They invite spiritual agreements.
And these agreements grow stronger the longer they remain unbroken.
4. Only the Holy Spirit Can Lead Us Into Truth
Tarot gives information, but it cannot give life.
It gives impressions, but not truth.
It gives direction, but not deliverance.
Only God can do that.
Verse #4 - John 16:13 (NKJV)
“When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth.”
The enemy wants to replace the Holy Spirit with the counterfeit spirit of divination. But the Spirit of God brings clarity, purity, peace, and freedom.
When your children hear the voice of God, the voice of the enemy loses its influence.
5. Why We Must Pray & Fast for Our Families
This generation is spiritually hungry-and the devil is feeding them counterfeits. Parents cannot be passive. Grandparents cannot be silent. We must fight for our children in the Spirit.
Three Ways to Protect Your Family
-
Fast and pray regularly over your kids and home.
Break every open door, known or unknown. -
Ask the Holy Spirit to expose hidden spiritual influences.
He will show you what your children won’t tell you. -
Teach your children the supernatural side of Christianity.
Kids don’t abandon the faith because it’s untrue;
they abandon it because they’ve never encountered the power behind it.
