Early this morning, I got a call from Lavoy Stein. He was on his way to work- he takes the bus every morning - when he said the Spirit of God began to deal with him deeply.
He told me, “Pastor, I couldn’t stop weeping. I’m ready to sell out completely for Jesus. I don’t even have the desire to smoke anymore, and I poured out all my liquor.”
When Lavoy got to work, he said the Spirit was burning so powerfully within him that he couldn’t even stay. He said, “I didn’t understand what was happening - it frightened me, but I knew it was God.”
He called Elder James Roundtree to come pick him up, and right when Elder James arrived, the Spirit of God fell even stronger. He ministered love, grace, and truth to Lavoy- and God began doing a deep inner work right there on the spot.
Family, this is revival.
God is awakening hearts, breaking chains, and setting people on fire for His glory. This is not emotionalism - it’s transformation.
🔥 1. The Fire That Changes Desires
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.” Philippians 2:13
True revival isn’t something we force - it’s something we receive.
When the fire of God touches your life, He doesn’t just command change - He creates the desire for it. Lavoy didn’t try to fix himself. God gave him a new appetite. The Spirit of God burned away the taste for old things and replaced it with a hunger for holiness.
💧 2. A Heart That Yields
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10
Surrender doesn’t start with perfection- it starts with permission.
When you tell God, “Lord, I’m willing,” He begins to move in places you’ve struggled for years. The cleansing doesn’t come by trying harder but by letting Him work deeper. God is not asking you to perform; He’s asking you to yield.
🌤 3. Don’t Force It - Just Ask for the Desire
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
If you’ve ever tried to serve God and failed, you’re not alone.
The truth is- you can’t sustain what you’ve forced. You can only sustain what’s born of love.
Ask Him to give you the desire to serve, to pray, to worship, to live differently. Revival begins when you stop striving and start receiving.
🔥 4. The Flame That Spreads
“Is not My word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?” Jeremiah 23:29
What started on a bus ride with Lavoy spread like wildfire to Elder James - and then to every heart that heard about it. That’s how revival begins: one surrendered life at a time.
Elder James, thank you for being an incredible example of faith and service. While most people are sleeping, you’re out grinding for Jesus Christ. Your heart is more precious than gold, and your life is a priceless reflection of God’s love.
💖 Closing Reflection
Family, let this moment remind us- revival is not an event; it’s an encounter.
You don’t have to chase feelings or try to make something happen.
Just ask God to give you the love and the desire to please Him. That’s where true fire begins.
The same Spirit that met Lavoy on that bus is still moving today -waiting for a heart that says,
“Lord, I surrender. Set me on fire again.”
