Leadership, Partnerships & Collaboration: The Power of Emotional Intelligence

One of the greatest principles in the Kingdom of God is agreement.

Jesus said,

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 18:19

Agreement is more than standing beside someone. It is the ability to build relationships, communicate, collaborate, and pursue a shared vision.

Over the years, I've noticed something that has surprised me.

Many people rarely initiate conversations. They wait for everyone else to speak first. They wait to be invited, noticed, or included. While there are many reasons this happens, if it becomes a lifelong pattern it can quietly limit personal growth and leadership opportunities.

Leadership requires the courage to connect.

Some people remain isolated because of fear.

Others because of pride.

Others because they lack self-awareness.

Others simply because they have never learned how valuable relationships truly are.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand yourself, understand others, and build healthy relationships. It allows you to read the room, ask questions, listen well, encourage people, and create meaningful partnerships.

Every opportunity begins with a conversation.

Every partnership begins with a relationship.

Every relationship begins with someone taking the first step.

The greatest leaders are rarely the smartest people in the room. They are often the people who know how to connect with others, create trust, and bring people together around a common purpose.

When your awareness begins to grow, your capacity begins to grow.

You stop seeing strangers and begin seeing future partners.

You stop seeing competitors and begin seeing collaborators.

You stop waiting for opportunities and begin creating them.

This is why Kingdom leadership is built on relationships. God has chosen to accomplish many of His purposes through people working together.

No one person possesses every gift, every resource, or every connection. But together, God multiplies what each person brings.

Don't spend your life waiting for someone else to make the first move.

Smile first.

Introduce yourself first.

Encourage someone first.

Pray with someone first.

Start the conversation.

You never know what God may be waiting to do on the other side of one simple introduction.

Prayer

Father, increase our awareness and develop our emotional intelligence. Remove fear, pride, insecurity, and anything that keeps us isolated from the people You have placed in our path. Teach us to build relationships that honor You, create Kingdom partnerships, and advance Your purpose. Give us the courage to take the first step and the wisdom to recognize the people You have assigned to our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
