Jesus Is Not Religion He’s Real Power

Many people think “God” or “Jesus” is just another religion. They’ve seen people misuse His name for money or control. They’ve watched rituals that look holy but have no power. They’ve heard church talk without ever seeing lives change.

But when you meet Jesus for real, you find out He is not a religion at all. He is the Living God who sets people free. He doesn’t just talk about power He is power.

Three Verses That Make It Clear

1. John 14:6

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Jesus didn’t say, “I came to start a religion.” He said, I am the way. He is not pointing to a path; He is the path.

2. Mark 16:17

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.”

Real followers of Jesus don’t just talk about Him — they carry His authority. His name has power to break evil, heal the broken, and set captives free.

3. John 8:32

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Religion binds. Jesus frees. When you really know Him, freedom shows up in your life.

A Story from the Streets

There was a young man living wild in the streets — selling drugs, partying, thinking he was untouchable. One night he overdosed. His heart stopped. Doctors worked to revive him as his body lay lifeless.

He said in that moment he saw himself leaving his body, like stepping out of his own skin. Instead of light, there was only darkness. He felt himself being pulled downward, not upward.

He described descending through a tunnel, cold and heavy, until he came to old, rusty gates. By those gates stood creatures in black robes, waiting. There was no warmth, no love, only hatred and despair.

It reminds us of the prophecy:

Isaiah 14:9 – “Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee…”

Just as he reached those gates, he felt a strong pull back. Suddenly he woke up in the hospital, breathing again. Shaken, the first words he told his friends were:

“Hell is real. I saw it. Don’t follow me down this path.”

That encounter changed him forever.

My Personal Experience

I’ll never forget the night I was called to pray for a young boy caught up in witchcraft. As I prayed, the atmosphere shifted. His voice changed. The demon inside of him screamed my name and my friend’s name it recognized us.

But I didn’t argue. I didn’t rely on ritual or tradition. I spoke one name: Jesus.

“In the name of Jesus, come out!”

And it left.

It was humbling. It reminded me that this isn’t about titles, buildings, or religion. It’s about the real authority of Jesus Christ authority that even demons cannot resist.

The Difference Between Religion and Jesus
    •    Religion is man trying to reach God.
    •    Jesus is God reaching down to man.
    •    Religion talks about power.
    •    Jesus demonstrates power.
    •    Religion manipulates.
    •    Jesus liberates.

Closing Thought

When people think Jesus is just religion, they miss His power. But when they see demons cast out, addicts delivered, and lives transformed, they realize He’s real.

The world doesn’t need another religion. It needs a Savior. It needs a Deliverer. It needs Jesus.
