Invest Where God Is Producing Fruit

One of the greatest blessings God gives us is people.

Throughout my life, I have been encouraged, challenged, corrected, and strengthened by incredible individuals who believed in me, prayed for me, and invested their time into my life. I am deeply grateful for every person God has placed along my journey.

As we grow in wisdom, however, we also learn that not every relationship is meant to receive the same level of our time, energy, or commitment.

Jesus loved everyone, but He invested deeply in a few.

One of the most valuable resources God has entrusted to us is time. Once it is spent, it can never be recovered. That is why wise stewardship includes being intentional about where we invest our attention, our gifts, and our loyalty.

Even Jesus experienced moments when those closest to Him did not fully understand His mission. On one occasion, while He was teaching, someone interrupted Him and said:

“Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.” (Matthew 12:47)

Jesus did not dishonor His family. Instead, He used the moment to teach a greater Kingdom principle:

“Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? … For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” (Matthew 12:48–50)

Earlier, His own family misunderstood Him and even attempted to restrain Him because they thought He was beside Himself (Mark 3:20–21). Yet Jesus never allowed misunderstanding, familiarity, or even family expectations to distract Him from His assignment.

There is a lesson for all of us.

Sometimes we spend years trying to earn the approval of people who have already decided not to understand our calling. We keep investing emotional energy into relationships that produce little encouragement, little partnership, and little fruit. Not because those people are evil, but because they may not be assigned to the work God has called us to do.

This is not about becoming bitter or walking away from people. It is about exercising biblical discernment.

Pray for everyone.

Love everyone.

Forgive everyone.

Honor your family.

But build with those who are willing to build with you.

The Kingdom of God advances through relationships of mutual honor, shared vision, and faithful partnership. When people celebrate your growth, contribute to the vision, and help carry the load, they become part of what God is building through your life.

Don’t spend your future trying to convince someone of your value. Invest in the people and places where God is already producing fruit.

Sometimes the greatest act of wisdom is not working harder to open a closed door it is recognizing the open doors God has already provided.

Your calling is too important, your time is too valuable, and your assignment is too significant to spend your life chasing acceptance. Walk with those who recognize God’s hand on your life, and together build something that will outlive you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for every relationship You have placed in our lives. Give us wisdom to recognize those You have called to walk alongside us and the courage to remain faithful to our assignment. Help us to love without bitterness, forgive without hesitation, and invest our time where Your Spirit is producing lasting fruit. May our lives bring glory to You and bless others.
