There was a season when life felt like waves. Bills, deadlines, expectations everything crashing at once. I kept treading water, but I was exhausted. Then one night while praying, I heard in my heart, “You’re not drowning because the waves are too high - you’re drowning because you stopped breathing spiritually.”
That truth hit me hard. I had been living off activity, not connection. My outer life was loud, but my inner life was silent.
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)
We feed our bodies every day, but how often do we feed our spirit?
The truth is, you’re already a spirit being but your mind, emotions, choices, and body don’t always know it. You have to introduce your higher self, your inner man to your human nature.
Your unseen life, must start leading your seen life. That’s how transformation begins.
1. The Invisible Always Becomes Visible
“For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.”
Luke 8:17
What’s invisible in your life is being revealed daily through your thoughts, words, and actions.
What you do in the secret place will always find a way to show up on the mountaintop.
Private disciplines produce public strength.
Prayer, meditation, forgiveness these aren’t religious duties. They are spiritual technologies that shape the unseen atmosphere of your soul long before anyone sees the results.
2. My Story: From Immature to Intentional
I remember when I first got married, back in May 2005.
My emotional intelligence was like a preschooler.
Marriage - whew - was one of the greatest tools God used to grow me into a real man.
I had to face myself: my pride, my defensiveness, my silence.
Becoming better requires humility and truth. If you’re still acting like a child in certain areas, pause and be honest. You can’t grow spiritually while denying reality. Growth requires acknowledgment and responsibility.
I’m not perfect, but I’m honest about who I am.
What I think, what I believe, and who I’m becoming, matters more to me than anything on this planet.
Today, my wife loves the man I’ve become, because she’s blessed with a man who loves her like there’s no tomorrow.
But it didn’t happen by accident.
It happened because I made a choice to get better at being a spirit.
3. Real Talk: Watch What’s Coming Out of You
When you have a fight with your spouse, the person you’re dating, or even a stranger, your spirit is expressing itself through your human nature.
That’s what’s defining you.
If love, peace, and patience are inside you, that’s what will come out.
If pride, fear, or anger dominate you, that’s what will show.
You have to practice the language and expression of love, because love is already deeply rooted inside you, it just needs to be exercised.
Practice not sticking your middle finger up when someone cuts you off on the road.
Sounds simple, but that restraint could save your life.
A few years ago, a group of boys were flirting with some young girls driving down the highway.
One of the girls got irritated, lifted her middle finger, and made a reckless gesture.
In a split second, one of the young men pulled out a gun and shot her through the window.
She died instantly.
He went to prison for life.
One moment of emotional reaction cost two lives one buried, one behind bars.
That’s what happens when the flesh speaks louder than the spirit.
4. Guard the Core - Your Heart
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
Proverbs 4:23
Everything starts inside.
The condition of your heart decides the direction of your life.
When your spirit is filled with peace, peace overflows. When it’s filled with pain, pain spills over.
5. The Spirit Is Your Light
“The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart.”
Proverbs 20:27
God uses your spirit to guide you and reveal truth.
Feed it daily and your discernment grows sharper.
Neglect it and life feels darker.
6. Control Your Inner World
“He who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.”
Proverbs 25:28
If your emotions rule you, your spirit can’t lead you.
When your inner life is undisciplined, chaos fills the gaps.
But when you train your inner man through prayer, stillness, and presence you become untouchable.
7. True Food Is Spiritual
“The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”
John 6:63
Prayer, forgiveness, love, meditation these aren’t religious phrases.
They are spiritual laws and the food of your higher self.
You can’t live off emotional reactions and expect peace to dwell in you.
Until the Word becomes alive inside you, the material world will always have mastery over you.
The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Final Word: Master the Invisible You
You don’t need to “become” a spirit being, because you already are one.
The key is to get better at acting like it.
Feed your spirit. Guard your peace. Choose love over reaction.
Because when your spirit leads, everything else follows.
And that’s how you master the invisible you.
